Franklin Farm Frozen Froggers
2008–2009 Winter Swim Program Registration

WHERE: Still Pond Community Center

WHEN: Saturday, 13 September, 2008, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES: To provide current Franklin Farm swim team members and potential new swim team members with a safe, quality athletic training program; to keep the kids “wet” throughout the winter and familiar with the water; and to advance team cohesion during the winter months through once-a-week practices led by a qualified swim coach and supported by parent volunteers. The program IS NOT a learn-to-swim program.

WHO CAN JOIN?
• Any child, ages 5–18. Swimmers must be five (5) years old on or before 01 October 2008.
• In order to participate, the swimmer must be capable of participating in a one-hour practice and of swimming distances of several hundred yards in deep water with the appropriate level of independence and confidence of a member of a swim team program. This program should not be construed as swimming lessons, but rather as enrichment.

COST: $175.00 per swimmer (Make checks payable to “Franklin Farm Swim Team”)

WHAT IS NEEDED? Please complete the registration form available on the Franklin Farm Foundation Web site. This form can also be found on the Colonial Swim League (CSL) Web site. You must print and complete this form. Please bring the completed form with you. One form per swimmer is required. Additional registration forms will be available via team e-mails, and at the Franklin Farm Foundation office (Still Pond Community Center, 12700 Franklin Farm Road). Each swimmer must provide his or her swimsuit, goggles, and swim fins for each practice.

SCHEDULE: This year we are returning to the Herndon Community Center Pool in Herndon, Virginia. The program will take place on Sunday mornings, beginning Sunday, 28 September, and run from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The program will run through the winter and end Sunday, 24 May 2009.

COACH: We are pleased and excited to announce that Coach Jim Krouse will return to coach this year.
